This is a guide provided to ensure the correct Straightener is selected and help to create that all important look and style.
Selecting the correct Iron
Thick, Long hair we recommend you use hair straighteners with a wider plate. This enables a wider hotter surface for maximum technique whilst employing minimum effort.
Thin, Short hair we recommend you use hair straighteners with a thiner plate. This allows more flexable use of your straightener with greater precision and control.
The majority of users prefer medium or regular sized plates (sizes). Whilst maintaining a relatively large area for straightening hair they also maintain great agility.
Wet to Dry Irons are ideal for people with a hectic/busy schedule reducing delays caused by drying hair. Be sure to use conditioner regularly to help keep the hair moisturised. Wet to Dry Irons are best suited for people with medium to longer length hair.
Cordless Irons are ideal for festival lovers, vacations and a quick and easy fix during your day. Suitable for all hair types.
Once you have selected your Iron you are ready to give yourself perfect hair.
Straightening the Hair
Step 1 Wash hair with shampoo and conditioner as normal.
Step 2 Ensure hair is thoroughly dry using a hairdryer on medium heat and paddle brush for quickest result. Using a brush can encourage hair to straighten, a towel may also be used. (Wet to Straight Irons it is recommended hair be at least towel dry).
Step 3 Use Clips if available to separate sections of hair, ideally situated on the top layer. This will make the hair more manageable and easier to straighten, working on one small section at a time.
Step 4 Start from the front to the back working from the underneath layers to the top layers. Apply a gentle even pressure on the straighteners starting from the root finishing at the tip (use as close to the scalp as possible, without burning). Using a smooth sweeping motion will stop the hair from snagging or getting burnt. On larger sections of hair this may need to be repeated 2-3 times to ensure straightness.
Step 5 Remove Clips (if applicable) and run the straighteners of the ends of the hair. This will ensure consistent straightness and reduce any separation caused by the hair clips.
Tip For a more creative look try styled flicks, following step 4 flick the ends of the hair using an upwards and outwards motion, whilst twisting the wrist for maximum effect.
